Jets' Milliner has Achilles tear

Oct 13, 2014 - 11:08 PM Florham Park, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Jets cornerback Dee Milliner was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn Achilles tendon on Monday.

Milliner suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos. The second-year Alabama product missed several games earlier this year with a high ankle sprain.

Milliner has 62 tackles and three interceptions so far in his career.

The Jets also placed left guard Brian Winters (torn ACL) on injured reserve. Winters was replaced Sunday by Oday Aboushi.

New York signed cornerback Josh Thomas to take Milliner's spot on the roster. The Jets also claimed offensive lineman Welsey Johnson off waivers from the Steelers.
