Cardinals' Fitzgerald has knee injury

Nov 17, 2014 - 8:03 PM Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Monday it was a Grade 2 sprain, but he also expects Fitzgerald to play in next Sunday's NFC West showdown against Seattle.

Fitzgerald was hurt in the second quarter of this past Sunday's game against Detroit and left the field to be examined, but returned to the contest. He had just two catches for 33 yards in the 14-6 win that improved the Cardinals to an NFL-best 9-1.

The 11th-year veteran leads the Cardinals with 46 receptions for 658 yards, but has just two touchdown catches.

Arians also said tight end Troy Niklas suffered a high ankle sprain is doubtful for next Sunday's game.
