Bucs' Evans highlights NFC Players of the Week
Nov 19, 2014 - 5:17 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland and St. Louis Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein were named NFC Players of the week in their teams' Week 11 wins.Evans had seven catches for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 27-7 win at Washington. The Texas A&M product is the first rookie in league history to record at least seven catches, 100 receiving yards and a touchdown catch in three consecutive games.
The 21-year-old Evans is the first wide receiver in franchise history to be named Offensive Player of the Week.
Borland had 12 tackles and two interceptions in the 49ers' 16-10 win at the New York Giants. He is the first rookie linebacker in club history to record two interceptions in a game.
He joins Andre Carter (Week 17, 2001) as the only 49ers rookies to win Defensive Player of the Week.
Zuerlein converted all five field-goal attempts, including two from beyond 50 yards, and scored 16 points in the Rams' 22-7 win over Denver. He also added five touchbacks on seven kickoffs.
His three Special Teams Player of the Week Awards are the most by a kicker in team history.
