Dolphins' Delmas headed to IR

Dec 8, 2014 - 6:52 PM Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Miami Dolphins safety Louis Delmas will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury he suffered in Sunday's game against Baltimore.

Delmas was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of the 28-13 setback and coach Joe Philbin on Monday said the sixth-year veteran would be placed on injured reserve.

In 13 games this season, his first with the Dolphins, Delmas posted 61 tackles with one interception, which he returned 81 yards for a touchdown in a Week 8 win over Jacksonville.

Delmas, a Florida native, spent his first five NFL seasons with Detroit and signed with Miami as a free agent in March.
