Gruden: RG3 to start if McCoy can't

Dec 8, 2014 - 10:43 PM Ashburn, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden confirmed Monday that quarterback Colt McCoy has a neck sprain.

McCoy was scheduled to see specialists after being injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-0 loss to St. Louis.

Gruden said Robert Griffin III will start Sunday's road game against the New York Giants if McCoy can't play.

McCoy passed for 199 yards with two interceptions against the Rams. It was his second consecutive start following Griffin's benching.
