Redskins LB Murphy to miss season finale
Dec 23, 2014 - 3:52 PM Ashburn, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Redskins rookie linebacker Trent Murphy will not play in Sunday's season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.Murphy was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after breaking his hand in Saturday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He fractured the third metacarpal in his right hand.
A second-round pick out of Stanford, Murphy started the last eight games and registered 2 1/2 sacks and 32 tackles this season.
The Redskins filled the spot on the active roster by signing offensive lineman Rishaw Johnson from the New York Giants' practice squad. The team also signed wide receiver Colin Lockett to its practice squad.
