Chancellor looks comfortable at walk-through
Jan 31, 2015 - 10:48 PM Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - A scare late in practice Friday caused the Seattle Seahawks to place strong safety Kam Chancellor on the team's last injury report before Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday. The veteran, who is expected to be instrumental in the Seahawks' plan to stop All-World New England tight end Rob Gronkowski, fell on the penultimate repetition of Friday's session and exited the practice with his left knee wrapped.
Chancellor was listed as probable on the injury report and coach Pete Carroll expressed optimism after Saturday's walk-through that the Pro Bowl selection would be fine by kickoff.
"He looked pretty good today," Carroll said. "We will make sure we test him in pregame, but he remarkably looked great today, and so that's all we have to go on."
The Seahawks completed their Super Bowl preparations on Saturday afternoon with a light walk-through inside the Arizona State football practice bubble for the third-straight day because of the uncharacteristic rainfall in the Phoenix area.
"Everything is done," Carroll said. "The hay isn't in the barn ever around here, but everything is done."
Seattle's walk-through lasted 47 minutes with most players wearing sweats and baseball caps while enigmatic running back Marshawn Lynch decided to wear slippers.
A pool report indicated Chancellor looked comfortable while tossing footballs with wide receiver Doug Baldwin then cornerback Richard Sherman on the sideline.
The Patriots, meanwhile, skipped their Saturday walk-through but received some good news of their own on the injury front when starting center Bryan Stork, who is dealing with a balky right knee that caused him to miss the AFC Championship Game, was upgraded from questionable to probable for Sunday's game.
