Pats, fans celebrate 4th Super Bowl
Feb 4, 2015 - 6:59 PM Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots and their fans celebrated their fourth Super Bowl championship with a parade through the streets of Boston on Wednesday.Despite cold temperatures and piles of snow left over from last week's blizzard, fans lined the streets for the parade, which finally got underway around 11:30 am ET, beginning at Prudential Tower on Boylston Street and ending at City Hall Plaza.
Players, coaches, front office personnel and ownership were on an estimated 23 Duck Boats, waving and acknowledging fans with the Lombardi Trophy and cameras in hand. Fans chanted "Let's go Pats!" and "We want 5!" as the players made their way through the streets.
Julian Edelman was one of the most animated Pats players during the parade, standing on the roof of one of the Duck Boats, wearing jeans and a short sleeve white T-shirt despite the cold weather. At one point he was mocking a large sign of Seattle defensive back Richard Sherman.
The Patriots capped their season with a 28-24 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in Phoenix, marking the franchise's fourth Super Bowl title.
Tom Brady was MVP of the game, going 37-of-50 for 328 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Brady also earned his fourth career Super Bowl win, which was sealed by rookie Malcolm Butler's interception of Russell Wilson at the Patriots' 1-yard line with 20 seconds left. That ties him with Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for the most by a quarterback.
Brady was also the MVP of New England's first two Super Bowl triumphs, which came in Super Bowls XXXVI (against St. Louis) and XXXVII (against Carolina).
No one has shouted yet.
