Rams part ways with Langford
Feb 26, 2015 - 11:00 PM St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Rams released defensive tackle Kendall Langford Thursday, a move that will save the team $6 million toward next season's salary cap.Langford was entering the final season of a four-year, $22 million contract he signed with the Rams in March of 2012. The 29-year-old was pushed into a reserve role in 2014 due to the emergence of NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Aaron Donald, which limited Langford to just 25 tackles and one sack while starting four of St. Louis' 16 games.
The seven-year veteran had a $7 million cap number for 2015.
Langford, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins, had registered career bests of 49 tackles and five sacks while starting all 16 games for the Rams in 2013.
