Dolphins release Hartline

Feb 27, 2015 - 4:57 PM Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Dolphins have released wide receiver Brian Hartline in a salary cap maneuver.

Hartline had spent each of his six NFL seasons with Miami and was set to earn $5.9 million in 2015. According to NFL.com, the move will instead save the Dolphins $3.15 million against the cap.

The 28-year-old Ohio State product had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2012 and 2013, but saw fewer passes last season. He started all 16 games, but had just 39 receptions for 474 yards with two touchdowns.

In 92 games, 69 of which have been starts, Hartline has 298 catches for 4,243 yards with 12 touchdowns.
