Dolphins release Finnegan

Mar 2, 2015 - 7:29 PM Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Dolphins released cornerback Cortland Finnegan on Monday.

Finnegan spent just one season in Miami, finishing with 44 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 12 games. An ankle injury kept him out of four games in November and December.

The 31-year-old Samford product started his NFL career with Tennessee in 2006 and played six seasons with the Titans before spending two years in St. Louis. Finnegan has 18 career interceptions, four of which he's returned for touchdowns.
