Panthers sign LB Trusnik

Mar 31, 2015 - 7:48 PM Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Panthers signed linebacker Jason Trusnik to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

"Jason is an experienced player who adds more competition to the linebacker position and has also been a special teams ace," Panthers coach Ron Rivera said in a release. "I expect him to come in and be a leader. Even though he is new to us, he's got veteran savvy to him."

Trusnik joins the Panthers after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Last season, Trusnik played in all 16 games and recorded 48 tackles and one interception.

In 109 NFL games (25 starts) with the Jets, Browns and Dolphins, Trusnik has totaled 220 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and one interception.
