Miami Dolphins 2015 Draft Preview

Apr 24, 2015 - 8:26 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The recent Greg Jennings signing alleviates things a bit for the Miami Dolphins at the wide receiver position but it hardly cures the team's need for a deep threat at the position.

It does give the Dolphins more options, however, because Ryan Tannehill still needs more help on the interior of the offensive line, while a complement to Ndamukong Suh on the inside of the defensive line is also a need.

The receiver position is very deep in this draft and if Louisville's DeVante Parker drops to No. 14 overall Miami will likely sprint to the podium. That position could be a bit rich for other potential first-round receivers like Arizona State's Jaelen Strong or Central Florida's Breshad Perriman, however.

In that's the case LSU offensive tackle La'el Collins, who could project inside at guard, or interior defenders like Washington's Danny Shelton and Florida State's Eddie Goldman may be considered.

"We always look at things in short-term value and long-term. It's a balance," Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey said. "Obviously, some guys have more payoff in dividends in the longer term and others in the short term. You weigh that with every prospect and that's how you place them on the board."
