Report: Patriots RB Maroney again sidelined vs. Cowboys
Oct 14, 2007 - 3:05 PM DALLAS (Ticker) -- New England Patriots running back Laurence Maroney will miss a third straight game this week against the Dallas Cowboys, according to a report in the Boston Herald on Sunday.Maroney is listed as a game-time decision as he continues to battle a groin injury, but the Herald reported that Maroney will not play as the two unbeaten teams go head-to-head in Texas.
The news comes despite Maroney taking part in practice this week. The Herald cited a source as saying that the team will take a cautious approach with Maroney due to his recent history of injuries.
If he does indeed sit out the game, Sammy Morris will continue to fill in and will go in search of his third straight 100-yard game.
Morris ran for 102 yards against the Cleveland Browns last week and had 117 against the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago.
