Bucs trade TE Tim Wright to Lions for kicker Kyle Brindza
Aug 31, 2015 - 9:34 PM TAMPA, Fla. (AP) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have acquired rookie kicker Kyle Brindza from the Detroit Lions for tight end Tim Wright.Brindza converted all three of his field-goal attempts this preseason for the Lions, who signed him as an undrafted college free agent out of Notre Dame.
This is the second straight summer that the Bucs have traded Wright, a third-year pro who won a Super Bowl with New England last season. The tight end was dealt to the Patriots last August in the trade that brought guard Logan Mankins to Tampa Bay.
Wright re-signed with the Bucs after being waived by New England this offseason. He had 26 receptions for 259 yards and six touchdowns for the Patriots in 2014.
