Redskins QB Campbell injured

Dec 7, 2007 - 7:16 AM LANDOVER, Maryland (Ticker) -- Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell suffered a dislocated patella tendon during the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears.

As he completed a short pass to running back Ladell Betts, Campbell was tackled by Chicago defensive end Mark Anderson, who fell on the quarterback along with several others. Campbell was taken off the field on a cart and is out indefinitely.

"I think the good news is that it's not ligaments," Redskins coach Joe Gibbs. "They think it's a kneecap."

It was the second time Campbell left the contest due to injury. On the previous series, the second-year signal-caller was hit on his right forearm by the helmet of Chicago's Brandon McGowan as he was running out of bounds after a two-yard scramble.

Campbell was replaced by Todd Collins.
