CHICAGO (Ticker) -- On the verge of falling out of playoff contention, the Chicago Bears on Monday placed defensive tackles Anthony Adams and Antonio Garay on injured reserve.
Adams hurt his elbow eight days ago in the Bears' 21-16 loss to the New York Giants.
Garay left last Thursday's 24-16 defeat to the Washington Redskins with an ankle injury after tackle Chris Samuels delivered a chop block.
The loss to Washington dropped the defending NFC champions to 5-8 - two games out of a playoff spot with three remaining.
The Bears also elevated defensive tackle Babatunde Oshinowo from the practice squad to the active roster on Monday.
