Texans QB Schaub likely to sit again

Dec 11, 2007 - 1:18 AM HOUSTON (Ticker) - Quarterback Matt Schaub is expected to miss his second straight game when the Houston Texans host the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.

Schaub suffered a dislocated shoulder in a 28-20 loss at Tennessee on December 2 and sat out Sunday's 28-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"I don't see anything changing right now," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday. "We're going to get a second opinion on Matt's shoulder here in the next 24 hours. I'm not quite exactly sure where we are sending him for that. I'll have that information for you all tomorrow. I don't think anything has changed. I don't think he'll be available."

Sage Rosenfels will make his second straight start. He threw three touchdown passes and was 27-of-36 for 209 yards against the Buccaneers.

"Well, I've always believed in myself, but I'm just trying to help this team win, trying to find wins, and we've got three left and hopefully we can win as many as we can win," Rosenfels said.

The Texans may be without running back Ron Dayne, who is battling a nagging ankle injury.

Dayne rushed for 17 yards on seven carries Sunday before he was replaced by undrafted rookie Darius Walker, who gained 46 yards on 16 carries.

"I feel better that he (Walker) got some plays under his belt this week," Kubiak said. "We'll see. He'll have to make a big improvement this week for us to have a chance to beat this football team."
