Pontbriand named to Pro Bowl

Jan 28, 2008 - 9:36 PM BEREA, Ohio (Ticker) -- Cleveland Browns long snapper Ryan Pontbriand has been named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, the team announced Monday.

Pontbriand was a key member of the Browns' special teams unit and helpd kicker Phil Dawson record a career-high 120 points. Earlier this season, he signed a four-year contract extension through 2011.

"I'm thrilled," said Pontbriand, a five-year veteran. "Making the Pro Bowl is a goal I was always hoping for but never thought I'd see this earlier in my career."

Pontbriand's addition gives the Browns four players in the Pro Bowl. He will be joined by kick returner Joshua Cribbs, wide receiver Braylon Edwards and left tackle Joe Thomas.

The Pro Bowl will be played February 10 in Honolulu.
