Bears, Grossman agree to terms

Feb 23, 2008 - 6:41 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with quarterback Rex Grossman, the team announced announced Saturday.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The embattled Grossman, 27, appeared in eight games - including seven starts - last season, completing 122-of-225 passes for 1,411 yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions.

One season after leading the Bears to a 13-3 record and their first Super Bowl appearance in 21 years, Grossman lost his starting job to Brian Griese for six games. He was able to reclaim his job in Week 11 before a sprained knee ended his season three weeks later.

In five seasons with Chicago, Grossman has completed 489-of-900 passing attempts for 5,907 yards, 31 touchdowns and 33 interceptions.
