Titans agree to terms with WR Gage

Feb 27, 2008 - 11:02 PM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Coming off the best season of his career, wide receiver Justin Gage on Wednesday agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with the Tennessee Titans.

Gage, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Friday, posted career highs in receptions (55) and receiving yards (750) last year in his first season with the Titans.

He led the Titans in receiving yards and tied for the team lead in receptions.

"Justin is a player who made the most of an opportunity and we expect him to be a significant contributor in our offensive success," Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said.

"He can play outside or inside, has the ability to make tough catches and should continue to grow as a receiver as he and (quarterback) Vince (Young) play more together."

Gage joined the Titans as an unrestricted free agent in March 2007. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Chicago Bears, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2003 draft.

In 65 career games, Gage has 119 receptions for 1,658 yards and six touchdowns.
