Bengals sign LB Jones, P Larson
Mar 4, 2008 - 10:09 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday signed linebacker Dhani Jones to a three-year contract.Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 6-1, 240-pound Jones played in 14 games last season with the Bengals, ranking second on the team with 111 tackles. Jones also had seven special teams tackles and was the special teams captain.
"Dhani did a good job, on and off the field, as a leader," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said. "He had been a starting player for a long time in the NFL, but he was willing to come in and accept whatever role was given to him."
Over his eight-year career, Jones has recorded 537 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions over 109 games with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Bengals.
The Bengals made another roster move Tuesday, signing punter Kyle Larson to a five-year contract.
The 6-1, 204-pound Larson has been the Bengals' punter for all four of his seasons in the NFL. He averaged 41.3 yards per punt last season.
