Marshall injured in bizarre accident
Mar 24, 2008 - 8:10 PM CARSON, California (Ticker) -- Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall provided another reason why athletes should stay away from fast food.Marshall suffered an injury after slipping on a McDonald's wrapper this weekend, according to a report Monday from NFL.com.
The report stated that Marshall stuck out his hand in an attempt to brace his fall, and it went through a TV entertainment center. His right arm will now be in a cast for the next two weeks, and he had to get stitches in his arm.
"I want to thank everybody for their concerns and let everyone know that I'm OK," Marshall wrote in a text message to NFL.com on Sunday morning. "It's funny because I pride myself on YAC (yards after catch) and being one of the toughest players to take down once I have the ball in my hands.
"So for the next couple of days, I'm going to take the time to build my confidence back up after allowing that McDonald's bag to take me down and send me through the entertainment center."
Marshall is coming off a breakout 2007 season, when he hauled in a career-high 102 receptions for 1,325 yards and seven touchdowns.
