Rams DE Adeyanju out 2-4 weeks
Jul 28, 2008 - 5:44 PM MEQUON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- St. Louis Rams defensive end Victor Adeyanju will miss two to four weeks with a broken finger suffered in Sunday's practice.Adeyanju, 25, is scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday to have pins put into his right middle finger, according to Rams head coach Scott Linehan.
"It's anywhere from a two- to four-week injury, from being cleared to play," Linehan said. "But once he gets that wound healed, he'll be able to get some work done with a club on that hand.
"(Adeyanju was) doing an individual drill, one-on-one pass rush, and actually hit a bag. Bags are so you don't have that. It's just a fluke, a complete fluke."
A fourth-round pick in 2006, Adeyanju played in 15 games - seven starts - last season, recording 23 tackles. He has 63 career tackles and one sack.
The 6-4, 280-pound defensive end is competing for a backup spot behind rookie Chris Long, the second overall selection in this year's draft.
