ALBANY, New York (Ticker) -- Speaking to reporters for the first time since his release from a Virginia jail on July 13, New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw addressed his legal status Monday.

Bradshaw, 22, confirmed that his sentence stemmed from two incidents that occurred before he joined the Giants - a 2004 arrest for underage drinking and resisting arrest and his conviction of petty larceny after allegedly stealing a video game system from a fellow student at Marshall.

Last week, the NFL announced it would not suspend Bradshaw for actions that happened before he began his NFL career.

"It just kept going on, with the situations I had in college," said Bradshaw, who joined Giants' training camp after serving all but two of a 30-day jail sentence earlier this summer. "It just kept going."

Bradshaw also acknowledged that he will have to serve another 30-day jail sentence following the upcoming season for a violation of his probation. He was asked which offense was considered a parole violation.

"Both of them," he said. "Both of them are the reason they kept this thing going since I was 15."

After he serves his second sentence, Bradshaw believes his legal problems will be over.

"Nothing's been done since I've been drafted by the Giants," he said. "There's no question about that. It should be over with after those 30 days. All this comes from a juvenile offense."

Bradshaw, 22, emerged as an instrumental member of an improving offense during the Giants' improbable championship run last season.

A seventh-round draft selection last year, Bradshaw played sparingly until Week 16, when he rushed for 151 yards and scored on an 88-yard touchdown run to help the Giants secure a wild card berth.

The 5-9, 198-pound also rushed for 208 yards in New York's four postseason games and scored a TD in New York's victory at Green Bay in the NFC championship game.
