Dolphins trade CB Daniels to Browns

Aug 20, 2008 - 6:35 PM BEREA, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Browns added depth to their secondary Wednesday, acquiring cornerback Travis Daniels from the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick.

The deal is pending on Daniels, 25, passing a physical.

Daniels appeared in 16 games - including five starts - for the Dolphins last season, recording 28 tackles and one interception.

A three-year veteran, Daniels hopes to bolster a Browns secondary that yielded 230.1 passing yards per game last season, the eighth-worst mark in the NFL.

The 6-1, 195-pound Daniels also could provide depth to a Cleveland squad that might be without starting safety Brodney Pool, who suffered a concussion in Monday's preseason game against the New York Giants.

To make room for Daniels on the roster, the Browns waived defensive back Mil'Von James.
