Bills QB Edwards misses practice

Aug 22, 2008 - 1:04 AM PITTSFORD, New York (Ticker) - Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards missed practice again Thursday with a bruised right quadriceps.

Edwards suffered the injury when he banged knees with running back Marshawn Lynch during Tuesday night's practice. His status for the Bills' third preseason game Sunday at Indianapolis remains questionable.

"He's better today than he was yesterday. Obviously, he's not good enough to practice yet," Bills coach Dick Jauron said. "It's still really sore, and he has some limits to his range of motion. We'll just play that one day by day and move along here."

Edwards said swelling in the thigh is preventing him from taking the field.

"I feel like I've made a little bit of progress, but there's still some nagging and discomfort in there that's caused by the contusion down there and the swelling, and I just need to be able to ice it as much as I can and stay off of it," Edwards said.

If Edwards is unable to go Sunday, Jauron will turn to J.P. Losman, who opened the 2007 season as the starter before being replaced by Edwards after a string of poor performances.
