CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bears waived injured linebacker Rod Wilson on Friday.

The fourth-year player was carted off the field late in the third quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers. He suffered a broken right forearm after making an awkward tackle on 49ers running back Thomas Clayton.

A seventh-round draft pick out of South Carolina in 2005, Wilson was a key member of the Bears' special teams the last two years. He was third on the club with 16 special-teams tackles in 2007.
