Redskins DE Taylor leaves game
Aug 24, 2008 - 4:54 AM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Washington Redskins defensive end Jason Taylor left Saturday's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers with a sprained right knee.Taylor, who was acquired by the Redskins from the Miami Dolphins last month, was hurt midway through the second quarter. He will undergo an MRI exam on Sunday.
"The initial x-rays were negative about any serious damage," Washington coach Jim Zorn said. "We're going to get another MRI and we'll have a stronger evaluation."
A six-time Pro Bowl selection with the Dolphins, Taylor is attempting to make the transition from right defensive end to the left side.
"It was a scary moment for our team and most definitely for him," Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell said. "He is such a contributor to our team. Hopefully we can have him back real quick."
