OWINGS MILLS, Maryland (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday acquired defensive end Marques Douglas from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2009 draft choice and a 2010 conditional pick.
It marks the third different stint in Baltimore for Douglas, who originally joined the franchise as an undrafted free agent. He also played with the Ravens from 2001-2004, registering a career-high 5 1/2 sacks in his final campaign with the club.
After playing three seasons with San Francisco, Douglas signed with Tampa Bay as a free agent this past spring.
"We're really happy to get a quality player who is also a quality person back to our team, especially this time of year," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said.
In 88 career games, Douglas has collected 19 sacks and 335 tackles.
The Ravens on Wednesday also waived defensive tackle Dan Cody, who turned out to be a bust after being drafted in the second round in 2005. The Oklahoma product battled injuries and appeared in just two games with the club.
