Jaguars LG Manuwai out for season
Sep 8, 2008 - 8:11 PM JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Jacksonville Jaguars left guard Vince Manuwai will miss the remainder of the season with a torn right ACL, coach Jack Del Rio announced Monday.Manuwai was injured in Sunday's 17-10 season-opening loss at Tennessee.
Losing Manuwai, a mauling run blocker, is another blow to the Jaguars, who are severely shorthanded along the offensive line.
Fellow guard Mo Williams is battling a shoulder injury and the team also is without center Brad Meester (biceps) and Richard Collier, who was shot last week.
Backups Uche Nwaneri and Tutan Reyes likely will start at the guard next week when the Jaguars host Buffalo.
The line troubles were evident against the Titans, as the Jaguars managed just 33 rushing yards on 17 attempts.
