Bengals TE Utecht doubtful with chest injury
Sep 19, 2008 - 7:22 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Bengals tight end Ben Utecht sat out practice for a third straight day Friday and is doubtful for Sunday's game against the New York Giants due to a chest injury.Utecht was injured on the first play from scrimmage in last Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, when he was drilled in the chest by linebacker David Thornton on an incomplete pass.
Cincinnati is off to an 0-2 start and has scored just 17 points. Utecht, who was expected to complement Pro Bowl wideouts Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the team's vaunted passing game, has just two receptions for 10 yards.
Utecht spent the previous four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, hauling in 68 receptions combined in 2006 and 2007.
