Broncos KR Russell released from hospital
Sep 29, 2008 - 1:59 AM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) - Denver Broncos wide receiver Clifford Russell was released from the hospital after suffering a sprained neck in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.Russell was injured on a kickoff return early in the fourth quarter. He was taken off the field on a stretcher and brought to the hospital for further evaluation.
Appearing in just his second game of the season, Russell had two kickoff returns for 25 yards.
He was able to accompany the team on its charter flight back to Denver.
