GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (Ticker) - The Green Bay Packers on Wednesday placed defensive end Cullen Jenkins on injured reserve with a chest injury.
Jenkins was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 30-21 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Packers also signed former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Kenny Pettway on Wednesday.
Pettway was in the car when former teammate Richard Collier was shot repeatedly on September 2, an incident that left Collier paralyzed from the waist down and required the amputation of one of his legs.
While Pettway was unharmed, authorities said they believe Collier was targeted in the shooting. He'll have big shoes to fill. Jenkins had 18 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks this season.
Jenkins, an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan in 2004, has his finest season in 2004, registering a career-high 6 1/2 sacks.
