Cardinals WR Boldin has fractured sinus
Oct 1, 2008 - 10:08 PM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin has a fractured sinus as a result of the jarring hits he received from New York Jets safeties Kerry Rhodes and Eric Smith late in last Sunday's game.Boldin did not practice Wednesday and is not sure when he will return. The Cardinals have not officially ruled him out of this week's contest against the Buffalo Bills.
When Boldin does return, he says he will not change his aggressive style.
"As soon as I get back on the field, it's the same old me," he said. "I don't plan on altering the way I play because if I did, I wouldn't be Anquan."
Smith was suspended one game for what the NFL called a flagrant violation of player safety rules. His helmet-to-helmet hit with 27 seconds remaining in the Jets' 56-35 victory knocked out Boldin.
After passing all spinal and neurological tests at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, Boldin flew home with the Cardinals on Sunday night. Additional tests on Tuesday showed that he did not suffer a concussion.
The six-year veteran is the Cardinals' leading receiver this season with 27 catches for 366 yards and five touchdowns.
