Gross, Otah miss practice again for Panthers

Oct 2, 2008 - 7:31 PM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - Carolina Panthers starting offensive tackles Jordan Gross and Jeff Otah sat out practice again Thursday.

Panthers coach John Fox refused to rule either player out for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Nope. Day-to-day," Fox said. "We don't really rule them anything until tomorrow because we don't officially have to."

Gross, a left tackle, suffered a concussion and rookie right tackle Otah sprained his right ankle in last weekend's 24-9 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Gross was kneed in the head with 9:45 to play in the opening quarter and was knocked unconscious. He did show up at practice Wednesday but did not participate.

Otah, one of the team's two first-round picks in April, said earlier in the week that he was optimistic about being ready to play against the Chiefs.
