Gross out Sunday against Chiefs
Oct 3, 2008 - 6:08 PM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - Carolina Panthers starting left tackle Jordan Gross will miss Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a concussion, coach John Fox announced Friday. The Panther also could be without starting right tackle Jeff Otah, who is doubtful with a sprained right ankle.
Gross and Otah both were injured in last week's 24-9 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
"It's part of the game," said Fox, who did not reveal who would start at the tackle spots. "We've dealt with it before and we'll deal with it again."
Jeremy Bridges, who already has replaced Otah during games this season, could get the call at right tackle if the rookie is unable to go. Bridges started 14 games at right tackle in 2006.
A possible replacement for Gross could be Frank Omiyale, who never has started an NFL game.
No one has shouted yet.
