Cowboys CB Newman out with abdominal injury
Oct 8, 2008 - 7:45 PM IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman will miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals after an MRI revealed an abdominal strain, the team announced Wednesday. The Cowboys' top cover corner, Newman missed last week's 31-22 win over Cincinnati due to a lingering groin injury, one that caused him to miss all of the preseason and the season-opening win over Cleveland.
The Cowboys originally thought Newman had a sports hernia, but the MRI proved otherwise. Adam "Pacman" Jones started in Newman's place last week and will likely start against Arizona as well.
Newman, who is coming off his first Pro Bowl selection, has nine tackles in three games this season.
