Cardinals WR Boldin ruled out against Cowboys
Oct 10, 2008 - 8:01 PM GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin on Friday was ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Dallas Cowboys.Boldin was hoping to be back this week after undergoing surgery to repair a sinus fracture last Thursday - his 28th birthday.
In Boldin's absence, Steve Breaston will start opposite Larry Fitzgerald.
Boldin suffered the injury as a result of the jarring hits he received from New York Jets safeties Kerry Rhodes and Eric Smith on September 28.
Smith was suspended one game for what the NFL called a flagrant violation of player safety rules. His helmet-to-helmet hit with 27 seconds remaining in the Jets' 56-35 victory knocked out Boldin.
A six-year veteran, Boldin has hauled in 27 catches for 366 yards and five touchdowns this season.
No one has shouted yet.
