ALLEN PARK, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Lions placed Gerald Alexander on injured reserve Monday after the safety suffered neck and shoulder injuries in the final minutes of Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
A second-round pick out of Boise State in 2006, the 24-year-old Alexander made 12 tackles in addition to a pair of special teams tackles this season.
Alexander has totaled 94 tackles and two interceptions in 21 career games.
In a corresponding move, the Lions re-signed veteran fullback Moran Norris for the second time in the past week.
