Broncos place LB Bailey, QB Ramsey on injured reserve

Oct 22, 2008 - 6:49 PM ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (Ticker) -- The Denver Broncos on Wednesday placed linebacker Boss Bailey and backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey on season-ending injured reserve.

Bailey suffered a knee injury suffered in Monday's 41-7 loss that will require microfracture surgery.

A sixth-year linebacker in his first season with the Broncos, Bailey ranked fourth on the team in tackles with 43.

Bailey's brother, Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey, suffered a groin tear in the same game and will miss four to six weeks.

Ramsey saw his first action of the season, replacing starter Jay Cutler. He completed 2-of-3 passes for 19 yards before re-aggravating an elbow injury.

In his seventh season out of Tulane, Ramsey is in his second year with Denver after spending four seasons with the Washington Redskins and one with the New York Jets.
