BAGSHOT, England (Ticker) - LaDainian Tomlinson on Thursday insisted he is over the toe injury that has dogged him for the last several weeks.
Tomlinson has run for 100 yards in only one game this season and has not rushed for a touchdown in three weeks, in part due to a turf toe problem.
But speaking after Thursday's practice for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints in London, Tomlinson promised he was nearing perfect health.
"The toe is not an issue any more," Tomlinson said. "I really expect to be as close to 100 percent as it's been since I hurt it and I'm just looking forward to a good game on Sunday."
Tomlinson added that he was eager to get back to his best for the big occasion of an overseas regular-season game.
"It does make you want to put on a good show because you know the world is watching," Tomlinson said. "That's the reason why we're here. We're here to expose our game in a great way, to show how great this game really is so obviously we're happy to be here."
