SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will not play in Sunday's contest against the San Francisco 49ers, coach Mike Holmgren told KIRO Radio on Friday.
Holmgren told the local station that Hasselbeck will have more tests Monday on his hyperextended left knee and bulging disc in his back. The coach said he has confidence that the 10-year veteran will be back at some point this season.
The 33-year-old Hasselbeck, who passed for 656 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions this season, will miss his third consecutive game.
Seneca Wallace will make his second straight start this Sunday in Hasselbeck's place. A six-year veteran, Wallace passed for 73 yards and a score with an interception during last week's 20-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
