MIAMI (Ticker) -- With the Buffalo Bills in first place in the AFC East, the team reportedly has rewarded coach Dick Jauron.
Jauron and the Bills have agreed to a three-year extension that will keep him under contract in Buffalo through the 2011 season, the NFL Network reported Sunday.
Jauron entered this season in the final year of his contract, but has guided the Bills to a 5-1 record.
He took over in Buffalo on January 23, 2006, following the resignation of Mike Mularkey and posted a 7-9 record in his first two seasons.
Jauron also coached in Chicago for five seasons, guiding the Bears to an NFC Central title in 2001 with a 13-3 record.
