Seahawks DE Kerney out for Sunday
Oct 31, 2008 - 8:00 PM RENTON, Washington (Ticker) -- Seattle Seahawks defensive end Patrick Kerney will not play in Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles because of a left shoulder injury.Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren made the announcement Friday on a weekly radio show on KIRO-AM, saying that Kerney would travel to Alabama and have the shoulder examined by Dr. James Andrews.
Kerney had surgery on the shoulder in January to repair a torn labrum. The Pro Bowler reinjured the shoulder in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 34-13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Kerney, who has five of the club's 19 sacks this season, led the NFC with 14 1/2 sacks last year.
Rookie Lawrence Jackson will likely start in Kerney's place.
No one has shouted yet.
