ALLEN PARK, Michigan (Ticker) -- Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky has a sprained thumb, and may miss this week's game against Jacksonville.
Orlovsky, who has been starting in place of the injured Jon Kitna, suffered the injury during Sunday's 27-23 loss to the NFC North-leading Chicago Bears. In his fourth career start, Orlovsky completed 28-of-47 passes for 292 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Lions head coach Rod Marinelli did not elaborate on the injury during his Monday press conference.
"We'll wait and see how the week goes out," Marinelli said. "I think it would be foolish on my part to tell our opponent who's going to be our starting quarterback."
While Rod Marinelli would not rule out Orlovsky, Foxsports.com reported that the second-year signal caller could be out indefinitely. The report stated that Orlovsky will have his hand in a cast for the next couple weeks before being re-evaluated.
If Orlovsky is out, 2007 second-round pick Drew Stanton would likely get the start.
Detroit (0-8), which is the only winless team in the league, also agreed to terms on a two-year deal with free agent Daunte Culpepper on Saturday.
