Rams place WRs Bennett, Hall on IR

Nov 4, 2008 - 10:19 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Rams made a bevy of roster moves Tuesday, placing receivers Drew Bennett and Dante Hall on injured reserve and signing running back Samkon Gado.

Bennett has a broken bone in his foot, an injury he suffered in the Rams' season opener. Signed to a $30 million contract prior to last season, Bennett has just 34 catches in 15 games since joining St. Louis.

Hall, 30, suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's 34-13 loss to Arizona. The two-time Pro Bowler has 12 catches for 105 yards and also has averaged 20.6 yards on 37 kickoff returns this season.

Gado, 25, split last season between Miami and Houston, rushing for 150 yards and four touchdowns in eight total games.

A fourth-year veteran, Gado figures to serve as a reserve behind starter Steven Jackson, who has been battling an injured quadriceps over the last two weeks, and Antonio Pittman, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Cardinals.

The Rams (2-6) made several other roster moves Tuesday, signing linebacker Brady Poppinga and running back Darius Walker to the practice squad and releasing safety David Roach and fullback Russ Weil.
