Chiefs agree to deal with Colclough, Macklin

Nov 5, 2008 - 6:10 PM KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday agreed to terms on two-year contracts with veteran cornerbacks Richardo Colclough and David Macklin.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Selected by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2004 draft, Colclough joins the Chiefs after previously playing for the Steelers (2004-20007) and Cleveland Browns (2007).

He has played in 36 career games, recording 37 tackles, including 2 1/2 sacks, and an interception. He also has returned 49 kickoffs for 1,065 yards and five punts for 19 yards.

Colclough has seen action in six playoff contests, including the Steelers' 21-10 victory over Seattle in Super Bowl XL.

Macklin is an eight-year veteran, having played in 116 contests with Indianapolis (2000-03), Arizona (2004-06) and Washington (2007). He attended the St. Louis Rams' training camp this year, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.

The Colts' fourth-round pick in 2000, Macklin has recorded 357 career tackles along with 14 interceptions for 233 yards and a touchdown.

In another move Wednesday, the Chiefs agreed to terms on a three-year contract with defensive end Wallace Gilberry, who had been on the New York Giants' practice squad.

The Giants signed the rookie free agent out of Alabama earlier this year, but he was released after attending the team's training camp.
