Steelers RB Parker out vs. Colts

Nov 7, 2008 - 6:40 AM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Willie Parker's return to the starting lineup did not last long.

The Pittsburgh Steelers running back will miss Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a shoulder injury, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported late Thursday.

Parker missed four straight games with a knee injury before returning in Pittsburgh's 23-6 victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday night.

The 27-year-old had 21 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown in the triumph. He has gained 333 yards on 87 carries with four touchdowns in four contests this season.

Mewelde Moore will start in Parker's place. Parker is not expected to miss more than one game, according to the newspaper.

Moore filled in admirably in Parker's absence earlier this season, totaling 303 yards and three touchdowns in three starts.

The AFC North division-leading Steelers (6-2) may also be without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who missed the second half of Monday's victory. He has yet to practice this week with a shoulder and thumb injury, although the Gazette said Roethlisberger is scheduled to practice on Friday.
