Report: Redskins sign CB Hall

Nov 7, 2008 - 8:15 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- DeAngelo Hall apparently is heading to the nation's capital.

The Washington Redskins on Friday agreed with the former Pro Bowl cornerback on a one-year contract, according to a report from NFL.com.

Hall spent the first half of the campaign with the Oakland Raiders after signing a seven-year, $70-million deal this offseason. But unhappy with their investment, the Raiders placed Hall on waivers two days ago.

The 24-year-old Hall made 48 tackles and three interceptions with Oakland this season.

Hall will help fill a void at cornerback for the Redskins. Shawn Springs already has missed five games this season, including the past three with a nagging calf injury.

Washington, which is 6-3 and trails the New York Giants by 1 1/2 games for first place in the NFC East heading into its bye this weekend, has managed just six interceptions on the season.

Selected eighth overall in 2004, Hall spent the first four years of his career with the Atlanta Falcons.

The two-time Pro Bowler has 20 career interceptions with two touchdowns.
